Gianni Gilardi was born in Milan in 1947. He graduated in Mathematics with full marks in Pavia in 1970 and is full professor of Mathematical Analysis since 1980.

of the University of Pavia in the period 1988-1994.
He is an associate fellow in the Academy

He has been the local responsible of a PhD school and of research grants for several years.
He gave several courses for ungraduated students, in PhD schools, in the Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica "F. Severi", and for teachers in Italy and Switzerland.
