I love mountains and I like both trekking and (easy) climbing in summer. I am a member of the CAI (Club Alpino Italiano) of Pavia since 1983.
I have a small flat in the Val di Fiemme and this and this (Corno Nero) is what I see from my dining room. Moreover, this is what I can find in the woods close to my home.
The Val di Fiemme is confined by the Lagorai mountains (the picture has been taken from the top of Corno Nero) and is very close to the Dolomiti area, one of the most beautiful regions in the world.
Many places in the Lagorai area have to be reached on foot since no cars are allowed there. So, you can walk and walk completely alone and fully embedded into nature.

Here is an example: a view of the 'Lago delle Stellune'
.
In the Dolomiti area you can reach places and see panoramas that you can never forget. Here are some examples.
-
Toward Cima Catinaccio (Rosengarten): the 'forcella'
over Passo Santner, reached by climbing.
-
A view of 'Sasso Lungo'
(Langkofel) from the almost plane region (Altopiano delle Mesules) on the top of Gruppo Sella (reached in a nontrivial way...).

The 'Forcella Demetz'
in the Sasso Lungo.
-
The top of the 'Torre Nord'
and the Catinaccio d'Antermoia behind us.
-
Before reaching the top of the Torre Nord you can have an unusual and impressing view on the most celebrated (and crowded) 'Vajolet Towers'
and on the 'core' of Catinaccio (Gartl). From left to right you see the Stabeler and Delago Towers, while the third one (Winkler) should be on the left and is out of the picture; completely on the right you find the Croda di Re Laurino and the terrible Passo di Re Laurino, while the Rifugio Passo Santner is far between the towers.
The last mountain that appears behind the Stabeler Tower is the Corno Nero, and my house is just behind it.
